Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship is back: Applications open until January 9, 2025

It’s that time of year again: The Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship is back, and we’re excited to partner with Amazon again to help spread the word!

Every year, Amazon offers college scholarships to high school students who intend to study computer science, software engineering, engineering, or another computer science-related field of study in college. The Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship program provides students with an opportunity to upgrade their careers with up to $40,000 in scholarships (up to $10,000/year) and a paid internship at Amazon following their freshman year.

Amazon will select 400 underserved high school seniors from across the country to benefit from this opportunity in an effort to build a more diverse tech industry. Watch this video to learn more. Applications are open until January 9, 2025.

Eligibility requirements:

✅ Be a high school senior in the U.S. who has completed or is currently enrolled in a computer science course — dual enrollment courses also count! If students haven’t taken a formal computer science course but have learned on their own, they can opt-in to take a brief assessment instead

✅ Be planning to attain a bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, or another computer science-related field of study. Examples include:

• International Baccalaureate Computer Science Course
• Advanced Placement (AP) Computer Science
• A or AP Computer Science Principles
• Computer science through a college dual enrollment program
• Engineering
• Robotics
• Physical Computing
• Design Mechanics
• Computer Manufacturing
• Aerospace Engineering

✅ Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.3 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent)

✅ Must demonstrate financial need

✅ Must be employment authorized to work in the U.S. Example: Employment Authorization Document holder, Permanent Resident, or U.S. Citizen
