Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship program awards students $40,000 towards a STEM degree
ScholarMatch is excited to partner with Amazon again this year to promote a wonderful opportunity for high school students interested in STEM!
Every year, Amazon offers college scholarships to high school students who intend to study computer science, software engineering, engineering, or another computer science-related field of study in college. The Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship program allows students to upgrade their careers with up to $40,000 in scholarships (up to $10,000/year) and a paid internship at Amazon following their freshman year.
Amazon will select 400 underserved high school seniors from across the country to benefit from this opportunity in an effort to build a more diverse tech industry. Applications are open until December 15, 2023.
✅ Be a high school senior in the U.S. who has completed or is currently enrolled in a computer science course — dual enrollment courses also count! If students haven’t taken a formal computer science course but have learned on their own, they can opt in to take a brief assessment instead
✅ Be planning to attain a bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, or another computer science-related field of study. Examples include:
- International Baccalaureate Computer Science Course
- Advanced Placement (AP) Computer Science
- A or AP Computer Science Principles
- Computer science through a college dual enrollment program
- Physical Computing
- Design Mechanics
- Computer Manufacturing
- Aerospace Engineering
✅ Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.3 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent)
✅ Must demonstrate financial need
✅ Must be employment authorized to work in the U.S. Example: Employment Authorization Document holder, Permanent Resident, or U.S. Citizen
